Words Are Powerful

Quotes are a major part of my life. It seems like I can find meaningful quotes wherever I look. I seem to stumble across them just when I need one the most. Once I find them, it always seems like they fit into a certain area of my life. Often times, I am drawn to the more motivating quotes and other times the quote may apply to a different aspect of my life. One of my all-time favorite quotes says, “The best revenge is massive success.” I found this in my fortune cookie, while eating at a Chinese Restaurant. That was six years ago, it has still stuck with me every day since then.
One place that I have used this quote over and over again is in the arena. My mom once told me that the top spot is the lone spot. Jealousy is a terrible thing and it can make people say or do cruel things. However, why not get revenge by having massive success? Striving to succeed in an area that we have some control over seems much more profitable, as well as much more worth our time than striving to get revenge on someone or something. Most of the things that are bothering us do not even deserve the time we are giving them. So doesn’t having massive success sound like a much better way to spend your time?  Anytime I have felt that someone has done me wrong, I think of this quote.                                                                                                                                                        Often times, we become hung up and obsessed with trying to get back at people for something they have done to us. This can consume our minds, as well as our lives. Ever since I found this quote it seems that thinking about success, instead of how to get revenge helps me to move forward and stop dwelling on the problem at hand. It is funny how a few simple words can change the way we view our lives.
I hope that you let these powerful words have a positive impact on you. Rather than focusing on the negative, focus on the positive. Strive for success, rather than revenge whether it be in the arena or in your life.
