Today we are covering how to use barriers with our horses to make them more confident and get them centered and willing. In this case the tool is a tarp, as you may have discerned from the title. You could really use any barrier you want, but in this instance I have a tarp. It’s convenient and effective.
Remember, we are not trying to bore him to death. We are simply trying to get the horse to gain further mental stability. In the beginning the horse may start off afraid, but your goal is to get to the point of understanding. In my experience things like this and your horse being able to work under pressure are the difference between a $8,000 horse and a $25,000 horse.
I truly hope this helps all of you with your horses and gives you the tools to have a safer more fulfilling partnership with your horse.
