Life Between These Ears

Posted in: Featured, Ranch Life

I ride Dino into the sunrise to ship calves at the neighbors.

Since the First of October, there’s been only a few days that I’ve not had the view of cows between my horse’s ears.  October has been the stuff cowgirl dreams are made of. Catching horses in the dark, and on the road by daylight, enjoying absolutely gorgeous temperatures, and mostly gorgeous days.  We’ve ridden through fog, a bit of rain, and gray cloudy days, but they don’t matter when you’re on a solid steed.  The South Dakota Skies don’t disappoint. There have been fluffy clouds,  stunningly blue skies and daily I’ve been given the chance to improve my horsemanship.

We’ve ridden into the sunrise to gather pairs for shipping.

I’ve cruised next to the Mighty Missouri on a famous yellow horse (See him in the October Issue of America’s Horse – and He’s been featured by Instagram!).

There have been cloudy, gray, early morning skies.

There’s been foggy, rainy days:

And finally we’ve trailed cows into the setting sun. Like, could I be any luckier?

So I apologize for the lack of writing, but I’ve had about the best view a person can have. And that office of mine, the one that’s outdoors, is way better than the one that gets this done!

Happy Fall and Happy Trails!
