Buck Brannaman’s Tips on Keeping Horses Healthy While Traveling

With Winter in full-swing here in South Dakota (as I type this, it’s snowing,  and the wind is blowing about 40 mph),  it’s all I can do to bring myself not to pack up and head to Texas to ride for the rest of the winter.  I still might – but I think that trip will wait until March, seeing as how I have a couple outside colts in for training…

But my wanderlust has me thinking — how does one keep a horse healthy on the road? So I went looking for someone who travels more than the rest of us combined (save for our friends who rodeo for a living), clinician Buck Brannaman, and this is what he had to say:

Do you have plans to travel to a warmer climate so you can get some riding in with your horses this winter?
