New release children’s chapter book Brim and the Big Cat Blunder by author Savanna Simmons is a thrilling tale about the turmoil and internal strife of a 10-year-old boy. For all intents and purposes, Brim’s life is great on the ranch, but he fights the desire to be older than his years.
The books winds its way through several spring days in Brim’s life with multiple characters finding their way in and out of the story.
The characters, both human and animal, featured in the book are based on special individuals within the author’s life. Brim and Tell are modeled after her two young sons, and the two horses they ride and the little red dog found tagging along behind are named and modeled after their own animals.
Brim is always eager to ditch his seven-year-old brother in search of peace and quiet so he can spot the best buck on the ranch to hunt with his dad in the fall. When his horse gets antsy, Brim finds himself in quite the blunder.
