AQHA Hall of Fame & Museum
I recently had the opportunity to visit and tour the American Quarter Horse Hall of Fame & Museum in Amarillo, Texas. The AQHA has a short, but very interesting history. I find what all lead up to the formation of the AQHA and all that has happened since fascinating.

Historical marker
AQHA Hall of Fame & Museum is rich with equine history. The AQHA has had some amazing horses and people. The museum has beautiful exhibits showcasing them.
There is so much to see even before you enter the AQHA Museum.

“THEY BRED GOOD HORSES”

Very cool way they made the running horses on the off side of the Wall of Honor Plaza.

The Grand Hall
It was a lot of fun touring the AQHA Hall of Fame with my friend Rhonda Sedgwick Stearns. She has a personal connection to so many people and horses who have been inducted into the AQHA Hall of Fame.

Rhonda pointing out some HOF honorees who she has personal stories about.

One of the many diagrams that explain about horses.

An explanation on how much horses eat.

EARLY MORNING DISAGREEMENT – A bronze statue you see as you walk upstairs.
I could spend a week in the AQHA Hall of Fame & Museum and still not be able to absorb all the information and history that is there. So many amazing horses, their owners, riders, milestones, awards, and achievements displayed in one beautiful museum for all to enjoy!

A photo of small part of the upstairs exhibits.
I plan to have future write ups about many of the names and faces that line these walls. Everyone in the AQHA Hall of Fame & Museum has a unique story of their own!
If you get the chance to tour the AQHA Hall of Fame & Museum you can see in person what an awesome display of equine history they have! Until then, check back with cavvysavvy.tsln.com or Cavvy Savvy Facebook page to read about the individuals and their equine partners that I will be writing about soon.
