The 2017 WSRRA Finals results are in, and it was fun to watch it all play out! Teams had traveled from near and far with big plans of roping fast and riding tough!
Everyone gathered for the 2017 WSRRA Finals in Winnemucca, Nevada. Loops were thrown and broncs were ridden!
You can tell how much work and dedication goes into this event when you see how many components it has and how it all runs together so smoothly. Marc Page, Sarah Urbick, Naomi Loomis, and many other amazing people come together to put on this first class event.
Before the evening performances there was actually something new this year when bronc rider TJ Fenster got on a snubbed bronc like they did in the early days of rodeo! I love to see things like this where cowboys are keeping the traditions alive. It was fun to watch!

WSRRA Finals not only has the ranch rodeo, but also has events added to include the whole family. Roping jackpots on Thursday evening and a Family Branding event during the day on Friday were a big hit with all the families! The kids steer riding was also a fun addition this year!
The Great Basin Gathering Poetry and Gear Show was a lot of fun! Trades were made, poetry was recited, music was played, people danced, old friends caught up on life, and new friendships were made.

An extra entertaining part of the WSRRA Finals was the WHRA (Wild Horse Racers Association) Finals, that was held in conjunction!
Oh boy, was it wild to watch!!!
What is truly special about the WSRRA Finals producer’s is that they use their platform to raise money to help others. 2017 WSRRA Cowboy Crisis silent auction was a huge success!! So many nice items were donated and one hundred percent of the proceeds went to help two chosen recipients, Clay Ashurst and Toby Vineyard, who both have endured many medical hardships this year. Clay and Toby, our thoughts and prayers are with you and your families.
WSRRA 2017 Finals was one for the books!! With the main ranch rodeo events and all the extras… it was a good time had by all who attended!

Hopefully I’ll see you along the ranch rodeo trail and see you at WSRRA Finals next year!
