Sock it to Mia

Sock it to Mia is up for sale by the Simmons family.

Mia is a registered AQHA mare we’ve had since 2012. She’s been used in all aspects of ranching on a large cow-calf and yearling operation, as well as ridden to refine her. She has been started out of the heel box as well. She’s fantastic to rope off of and puts and keeps you in the right spot to catch one every time. Sock it to Mia

Mia is a very level-headed, well-built mare and a smooth mover. We think she would be nice for an intermediate or advanced rider, youth or adult, and could do well showing in western pleasure or cow-horse. She is the only mare in a pasture full of geldings and gets along well; we have never known when she has been in heat.

She is easy to get along with, stands well to get on, stays sound and is barefoot, and can be trimmed easily. She’ll cross water, load and haul with no problem, and she doesn’t buck. She’ll stand tied for you all day, likes the company of people, and isn’t barn- or herd-sour. She’s used to riding out alone at the ranch, and would make someone a good trail horse.

Mia is great with lateral work and is fun to do more advanced maneuvers on and has been started on flying lead changes, though they aren’t solid yet. Mia is a solid horse to reach for when there’s a job to be done. She has a good-sized motor and can put in a full day, but doesn’t get hot. She’s ready to go for someone to enjoy this summer.

We are selling her to make room for younger horses in our herd and to let someone else enjoy her. She rides straight-up in a spade bit, and rides spectacularly as well in a shanked snaffle or hackamore. She has no vices.

We are asking $6,000. Please call Boe at 307-663-7610 with questions or to come try her out. We are located north of Lusk, Wyoming.
